 Region 3 South

Region 3 So. was active last year.  We had a Mini conference, held 2 Mock Orals, had a Summer Splash Family Fun Day, and held monthly workshops and regional meetings.  I want to personally thank those who have supported our region through out the year.  Thank you all!!!  I would like to send a special thank you to Bernie Angelo for her time and energy during the last 1 ½ yrs serving as our Regional Director.    This year we will be welcoming Fred Shaughnessy as Director of Region 3 So.  He will be seated at the January Board of Directors Meeting.  Welcome aboard Fred!!

There will not be a January Regional Meeting due to the holidays and Board Meeting.  Our goal for next year is to increase membership and participation in regional activities.  To assist us in doing this, we are offering 1 free workshop and regional meeting, if this is your first time at a workshop for our region.  This applies to members and students.   Our next workshop and regional meeting will be held February 2, 2008 at Jason’s Retreat in the residential classroom.   The workshop will start at 9:00 and the regional meeting will begin at 11:00.  We will be done by 12:00pm.  Food and beverages will be supplied by the region.  The cost of our workshops are, members $10.00, students $5.00.

We meet the first Saturday of each month unless it is a holiday.  If that happens we will meet on the 2nd Saturday of the month.  As we all know, we must have CEH’s to re-certify.  The regional workshop/meeting offers you an opportunity to receive 3 CEH’s and 1 PDH a month.  If you attended each monthly workshop/meeting in 2008, you would have 33 CEH”S and 11 PDH’s for  $110.00.   If you know anyone who is interested in presenting a workshop for our region, they can contact Stephanie Phelps at 661 637-2187

Region 4 South

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are preparing for the challenges facing us all in this New Year.

I regret to inform you that after two years of service as Board of Director and Vice President, I will no longer be able to serve you in this capacity.  I will be stepping down from my position as Vice President on the Board, effective immediately, due to personal health problems.  One of our challenges will be to fill this position on the Board.  I am hopeful that one or more of you will consider stepping up to serve the membership in this capacity.  Many of you have been very supportive of my efforts over the past few years, and I would love to see you move into a position on the Board.  Please contact Rhonda Messamore at the CAADAC Office, if you are interested in a position on the Board, as the need is immediate.  I thank each of you who supported me along the way over the past two years.

Sincerely,

Donna Coleman
