Career Path Flow Chart
Students, Recovery Workers, Interns, Technicians and Counselors

With CAADAC's "Career Ladder" approach to alcoholism and drug abuse counselor development, career-minded professionals are "covered" throughout their working lives. From beginning and volunteer staff, to seasoned, certified counselors, CAADAC offers professional recognition, opportunities for career growth, a registry for employment verification, ethical standards enforcement and networking that allows all who work on the AODA treatment team to enrich their skills and talents.

By reviewing the requirements and benchmarks in CAADAC's career path, every professional will find his or her distinctive, competency based title. Finding one's place on the ladder is just a beginning. With a clearly laid out path to follow, the efforts and achievements of each individual can be combined to raise the professional's ability to treat the disease of addiction, while boosting professional esteem.

Throughout each step of the career path, AODA professionals will know that they will be "registered" for purposes of complying with new regulation and in line to become a part of the future licensing of counselors. In these turbulent times, CAADAC has extended an umbrella of protection for those who have chosen to make AODA counseling their life's ambition!
