California Certified Prevention Specialist (CCPS) Requirements:
  • 100 hours approved prevention training (50 hours ATOD specific)
  • 120 hours of practicum experience in five performance domains (minimum of 10 hours each)
  • 2,000 hours of supervised ATOD prevention experience (supervision by a qualified prevention professional)
  • 3 letters of reference (letters must attest to applicant's knowledge, experience and character)
    • one from a from a former or current supervisor and two from peers
  • Signed Code of Ethics & Consent to Release Information (available at our forms section)
  • Passing of an IC&RC approved written examination
  • Submit appropriate fees
