Through our credentialing body, the CCBADC, the professional rights and privileges of certification combine with CAADAC membership to assure prospective employers that the counselor they’ve hired has met stringent education and skill requirements. The CAADAC Board of Directors is composed of two representatives from each eleven regions. These representatives voice your concerns and bring back information to their regions. Members may apply to become members of committees. Several Ad Hoc committees directly help members and counselors, such as Third Party Pay/ Managed Care, Peer Assistance and Membership Benefits.
As a member of one of our eleven regions you will meet quarterly and have multiple opportunities for continuing education at reduced fees.

Being Registered or Certified by the California Certification Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CCBADC) offers you the greatest opportunities available in California and these great benefits:

CAADAC’s certifying body, The California Certification Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CCBADC) offers certification on a voluntary basis to applicants who meet the criteria for certification.
As a member board of the International Certification Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC), CCBADC recognizes certification from other member boards of IC&RC, and if you move from another state where the board is an IC&RC member you have certain reciprocity rights. IC&RC represents over 40,000 counselors world wide.
As a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor level II (CADC II) you are eligible to perform assessments for the Department of Transportation (DOT).
A CAADAC member receives discounted fees on certification through NAADAC.
