| Posted by Rhonda Messamore (rmessamore) on Nov 07 2007 |
Responding to numerous inquiries from professionals within the field of alcoholism and drug abuse counseling, as well as specific data requests from state policy makers, CAADAC commissioned a report to identify where California stands in relation to the rest of the nation with regard to standards for alcoholism and drug abuse counselors.
After exhaustive research, including a national survey of state licensing and certifying bodies, CAADAC has produced,
This report carefully compares California’s requirements for professionals working within licensed and certified facilities, as well as those working in private practice, against their counterparts in other states.
The resulting picture confirms what CAADAC has asserted for over 20 years: California is among the lowest in the nation in requiring adequate consumer protection measures in the addiction treatment field.
This document is being made available to CAADAC members, colleagues and policy makers via our web site. It can be downloaded in PDF format and printed without restriction.
